Frank Rusa has been appointed the acting Executive Director of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) following dismissal of Dorothy Kisaka.
Rusa, who is the current Director for Legal Affairs at KCCA, will work alongside Nowera Robert, who has been appointed as acting Deputy Executive Director, while Sarah Zalwango Karen will serve as Acting Director of Public Health.
This follows the recent dismissal of KCCA officials, David Luyimbazi, and Dr Daniel Okello who held the offices.
The changes were made on Thursday by the Presidency Ministry.
“You are hereby assigned the duties of Executive Director. You will hold the post until a substantive office holder is appointed by the Appointing Authority,” the letter to Rusa reads in part.
Meanwhile, the Minister of State for Kampala Capital City Authority and Metropolitan Affairs, Kabuye Kyofatogabye has revealed that the Ministry has already handed in three names to President Museveni to choose from, as the next Executive Director of KCCA.
He made the revelation while speaking to journalists at Parliament where he further defended the decision to halt Council sitting arguing that the banning of sittings won’t affect the operations of the Authority because even when the Council had been given the leeway to hold sitting, all its members di “Yes we have halted the Council sittings because even if they are to sit, what are they going to discuss? Anyway, even previously when they sat, they used to just fight, the halting of the sittings will in fact help to calm the situation. Let them first wait we finalize the process, we shall give them what they want.d was fight amongst each other.
