The Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC) held her inaugural Stakeholder Engagement Day at Hotel Africana aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction through gathering valuable feedback and showcasing the corporation’s wide range of products, services and latest innovations.
Themed, “Enhancing Customer Loyalty Through Excellent Service Delivery,” the UPPC Stakeholder Day was graced by; Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, Prime Minster as chief guest, alongside Hon. Milly Babalanda, Minister for
Presidency, as well as, key stakeholders from Ministries, Departments, Agencies (MDAs), and the private sector.
The event served as a testament to UPPC’s dedication to delivering quality services and ensuring customer satisfaction. Through direct interaction with stakeholders, UPPC envisions to enhance stakeholder satisfaction through efficiency in service delivery. This will further enable UPPC to tailor the corporation’s offerings more
precisely, innovatively, and continuously improve services, ensuring that they do not only meet, but exceed expectations.
The Chief Guest, Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja emphasized the significance of customer-centric service delivery, stating, “In today’s competitive market, open dialogues amongst stakeholders is crucial. UPPC’s commitment to understanding and meeting customer needs sets a benchmark for excellence in our public services.”
She added that, “The Corporation has been at the forefront in advancing Uganda’s Vision 2040 objectives by ensuring creation of jobs along the value chains of production, processing and marketing. More still, UPPC’s efforts in promoting local industrialization through supporting domestic production for all printing and publishing needs not only boosts local capacity, but also advances the Buy Uganda Build Uganda
Presidential agenda.”
In line with Uganda’s digital transformation roadmap, Hon. Milly Babalanda commended the corporation for their recent ICT innovations that responds to the recently launched UPPC strategic plan that targets to digitize 80% of the corporation services by 2026. She further highlighted the recapitalization strides by UPPC quoting the acquisition of state-of-the-art technology which has bolstered its production capacity and reduced the turnaround time.
Relatedly, the Prime Minister was thrilled to launch UPPC’s latest innovations:
1. The GovInfoHub: a digital user-friendly platform by the UPPC that seeks to bridge the information gap between Government and the public by disseminating crucial and credible information targeted to promote accountability and transparency accessible through www.govinfohub.go.ug
2. UPPC service portal: A one-stop-centre for all UPPC services including printing, publishing, and gazetting services accessible through; www.uppc.go.ug
3. UPPC online bookshop: Where the public can conveniently access all legal and all other UPPC publications.
4. ESG and Sustainability practices: UPPC is more environmentally conscience than how the corporation prints. There is active involvement in a number of programs that support environmental sustainability through adopting best Environmental, Social and Governance practices.
The UPPC was pleased to announce the launch of a strategic partnership with the Uganda Chapter for Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives (UCCSRI). This collaboration underscores UPPC’s commitment to ESG and sustainability practices.
The partnership aims to advance sustainable business practices, promote environmental stewardship and champion social responsibility within the printing and publishing industry. By closely working with UCCSRI, UPPC will implement initiatives that drive positive change, enhance operational efficiency and foster a culture of sustainability.
About UPPC
UPPC is a public enterprise fully owned by Government. It was established in 1992 by
the UPPC Act, Cap 330. Section 2(2) to provide printing and publishing services to
public and private entities and individuals. The Corporation started out as the Government Printer under the British Colonial Government in 1902. In 1962 the Department remained under the Office of the
President.
