The Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, has said that he will soon be back to the country as he continues recovering from an illness that has kept him abroad for three months.
In a video message issued by Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga on Monday, the Kabaka said he has been quiet on the advice of doctors but said he is now getting better.
While the king does not mention the exact location of where is getting treatment, some Namibian officials confirmed that the 69-year-old monarch has been receiving treatment at Okonguarri Psychotherapeutic Centre in the country.
In his short remarks in the video, Mutebi calls for unity among the Baganda.
“We urge our people to remain united during these trying times,” he said.
The king’s state of health has been a subject of muted discussion among many subjects in recent years.
